How the f # & k ?

Britain's Got Talent.

For the last few days I have been completely mesmorised by youtube links to a British TV show called Britain's got talent. The aim of the show was to find somebody to sing in the Variety Show in front of the queen and on Sunday, Paul Potts was announced the winner of the show. I started watching the audition videos and I was really impressed by Paul singing Nessun Dorma. I have never really liked opera, I always thought of it as just warbling noise but this audition tape leaves me in tears every time I watch it and I think Mr Potts may have converted to me to Opera Tenors. What I like most about this video is the look of low expectation from the judges when Paul announces that he is going to sing opera and then the looks of sheer astonishment when they realise that he can actually sing. It sends shivers down my spine, I am so glad that he won!

(I was also very impressed by Tony Laf's audition but he unfortunately didn't get into the final. It's also worth checking out some of the other videos, the bad and the good, for good comedy value!)

C'est fini!

Well, it is finally over! I have finished the DELTA course. I managed to get my Case Study finished at the weekend and handed in a day before the deadline, which is good going for me! I handed in all my reflections and this morning I sat the written exam. My hand was killing after 3 and a half hours and 21 pages of scribble, but I think it went okay. Fingers crossed that the results are good when I get them in September. Of course, the exam could not go smoothly for me, as you know I tend to attract disaster. Halfway through the exam Alistair came in to give us all a free beverage and he spilled Coke on my table! Luckily it only went on the question papers and material and not on my answer booklet, so the crisis was more or less averted. I am so happy to be free finally, I want to run out onto my balcony right now and break into a rendition of George Michael's Freedom!
