Two down, too many to go

I haven't posted for a while but I have been very busy trying to complete some essays for the DELTA which, in a moment of madness, I decided to undertake this year. So far I have passed my first two observed classes, one course planning essay and I have just this minute completed my assignment on reading in the intermediate classroom. Just taking a well deserved break before I start thinking about the next 2,500 word essay I have to churn out before mid-February. Oh the joys of studying, it's weird to be getting my head back in the books after so long. I had forgotten how long it took to write a half-decent piece of work.

No news to add really, apart from general work, study and house stuff not much is going on. Jaime is still on with the English classes, maybe he will put what he has learned to good use when we go to the UK in April.

Happy New Year and Felices Reyes Magos

New Year's Eve was spent at our flat in Madrid with Nedra, Seamus and two of his friends from Ireland, Sean and Rosin. I managed to get together a pretty good buffet with far too much food since leftovers are still taking up room in my fridge. We successfully swallowed our grapes along with the chiming of the bells and then we enjoyed many a free firework display from our balcony. After seeing in the New Year with some Cava we settled down for a marathon pictionary and charades competition which led to much merriment and downright hysterics when it came to Nedra trying to mime 'Meet the Fockers." Excellent entertainment.

Started 2007 well with a lovely curry at Guru with Nedra, Seamus, Aisling and Greg. I don't eat curry often enough here so maybe we could make this a regular thing in 2007.

Jaime and I went up to La Vid de Ojeda for the weekend for more food, drink and present giving. This time it was for the Three Kings. Jaime's niece and nephew were highly excited by the whole thing. I introduced the tradition of Christmas Crackers into the Garcia Perez household and it seemed to go down very well as everyone wore their paper crowns. After a lovely lunch I settled down to play Briska with Jaime's parents and brother-in-law. It's my new favourite pastime.
